Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour. Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

I thought this event was fantastic although I was slightly worried that I might not find the meeting point! That took a while. The 1 on 1 time with Mark was really beneficial for my art practice. Mark was very generous with his knowledge. It was my first drawing in an ink pen and now I feel more confident to draw in ink more even with mistakes. Learning perspective was interesting having never really learned this technique before. Overall if you?re enthusiastic about drawing and like to practice then I think this is a great class.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
